About United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a nation of the Arabian Peninsula, mostly overlooking the Persian Gulf (Arabian Gulf).

The country is a federation of seven emirates, whose economy is based on some fundamental pillars: oil, natural gas, tourism (with particular reference to the luxury sector that is almost continuously rising), the real estate, the commercial sector (with free zones open to foreign capital) and financial.

The demography of the country is growing strongly, driven by massive immigration in the field of work by citizens of several Asian countries (such as Bangladesh, India and Pakistan) and the Middle East area. The population is concentrated in the two most important and populous cities: Dubai where there is the ultramodern skyscraper Burj Khalifa, huge shopping and entertainment centers; and Abu Dhabi, the island capital, where the Great Mosque of Sheikh Zayed is located, with its crystal chandeliers and large spaces able to accommodate more than 40,000 faithful.
