Yes, but only if you have a regular Passport, valid for at least six months and issued by one of the fifty countries that can apply for the Electronic Authorization known as ETA, which is issued in about 72 hours. Italy is part of these countries like all the countries of the European Union. With ETA you can carry out tourism, business or transit and it is necessary if you arrive by air at a Canadian airport.

In this case you must apply for a visa, which must be approved by the Embassy of Canada following the formal procedures provided by the Canadian Government.

Yes, but only if it is part of the countries that can apply for an ETA or tourist visa and with a stay of less than six months. Otherwise, to be able to study in Canada for more than six months, you only need to apply for a study visa once you have obtained the invitation letter from an DLI (Designated Learining Institution). As for the study visa, you need to know where you will be staying and prove that you have sufficient financial funds to be able to bear the costs related to your stay in the country.

How long does it take to obtain a visa?

The times are never standard and depend on the type of visa, the number of current practices that must evaluate the Canadian consular section and the political/social context in which you start the practice. It is always advisable to start the visa application well in advance of the travel hypothesis that you have planned.

How long does a visa last?

The duration depends on the type of visa required (tourism, study, work, etc.). The visa always covers the entire reference period: for example, if you have obtained a letter of acceptance to study from an DLI for a twelve-month study plan, the study visa issued by the Government of Canada will cover the entire period required.
